Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer focused on Protective Relaying for our Denver, CO office, with remote work flexibility from locations in the United States. You will contribute to ESSP projects involving protection for substations, transmission lines, generators, and renewables, while guiding teams and mentoring engineers.

Applicants should hold a PE license (or ability to obtain) and bring 10+ years of related experience, ABET-accredited degree, and strong knowledge of IEEE/NERC

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited).
• 10+ years of post-education experience in Protective Relaying projects for power generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one.
• Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
• Proven track record of workplace safety and adherence to policies.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineering, and studies of protection systems for bulk power equipment including substations, transmission lines, generators, renewables, industrial, and distribution systems.
• Lead teams on client projects to meet scope, schedule, and budget; mentor junior engineers.
• Discuss project specifics with clients and support data collection during onsite visits.
