Job summary

Electric Power Systems in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Sr. Relay Technician to lead protection and control testing, commissioning, and field execution.

The role requires deep expertise in analyzing protection schemes, managing complex projects, and guiding field teams to ensure safe, reliable operation of substation and industrial systems. You will mentor junior technicians, interface with customers and utilities, and drive quality delivery across outages, retrofits, and commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays in transmission, generation, or distribution substations.
• Knowledge of relay test software and protection and control schematics.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety on job sites and enforce safety policies.
• Analyze protection schemes for power circuits and system components.
• Perform installation, commissioning, testing, and functional testing of relay panels.
• Read and validate protection schematics and configurations.
• Lead root cause analysis investigations for relay trips or disturbances.
• Develop project execution plans and commissioning procedures.
• Coordinate resources and field activities to ensure on-time completion.
• Prepare comprehensive test and system performance reports.
