Job summary

Anduril Industries, Inc. is seeking a Senior Propulsion Test Engineer to develop, build, and execute test campaigns for mission-critical air vehicle propulsion systems and micro-turbojets.

You will own test setups, validate engine performance, and lead live hot‑fire runs as Test Director. The role covers hardware/instrumentation, Python-based test software, CAN bus interfaces, and close collaboration with propulsion development engineers throughout engine design evolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering or related field or 10+ years of equivalent experience.
• Experience managing control room operations and complex test schedules.
• 8+ years in propulsion testing or engine test cell operations.
• Direct experience with micro-turbojet engine testing is mandatory.
• Experience as Test Director during live engine runs or hot‑fire operations.
• Proficiency in Python for automated test and data acquisition on Linux/Unix.
• Strong Linux/Unix skills including SSH and network configuration.
• Hands-on experience with CAN bus hardware interfaces and sensor calibration.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Test Director during engine hot‑fire runs and manage test stand operations.
• Design, build, and maintain propulsion test hardware and instrumentation.
• Author propulsion test plans, procedures, redlines, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop automated Python-based test software on Linux/Unix to control engine profiles and telemetry.
• Implement and debug CAN bus communications with ECUs, actuators, and test stand controllers.
• Integrate and calibrate propulsion instrumentation (load cells, transducers, thermocouples, flow meters).
• Configure Linux/Unix test systems via terminal, SSH, and network tools.
• Perform rapid root‑cause analysis of anomalies during testing.
• Analyze post‑test telemetry and generate detailed test summary reports.
• Train Manufacturing Test Engineers and Technicians in best practices.
