Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Propulsion Test Engineer to develop, build, and execute test campaigns for production-ready propulsion systems and micro-turbojets. You will own test setups, validate engine performance, and serve as Test Director during live hot-fire runs to ensure safety and data fidelity.

You will design test racks, write Python-based software on Linux, calibrate instrumentation, and analyze telemetry to produce detailed test summaries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering or related field, or 6+ years of equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in propulsion testing, hardware-in-the-loop, or test cell operations.
• Direct experience with micro-turbojet engine testing (mandatory).
• Experience as Test Director or lead test engineer during live engine runs.
• Experience designing and wiring test racks and DAQ systems.
• Proficient in Python for automated test and data acquisition on Linux.
• Strong Linux/Unix, SSH, and network debugging skills.
• Hands-on CAN bus hardware interfaces and logging.
• Experience wiring and calibrating sensors (pressure, thermocouples, load cells, flow meters).
• Eligible for US security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Test Director during engine and micro-turbojet hot-fire runs and manage test stand operations.
• Design, build, and maintain propulsion test hardware infrastructure.
• Author propulsion test plans, procedures, redline limits and acceptance criteria with engineers.
• Develop automated test and data acquisition software in Python on Linux.
• Implement and debug CAN bus communications with ECUs and test stand controllers.
• Integrate and calibrate propulsion instrumentation (load cells, transducers, thermocouples).
• Operate Linux/Unix test systems using CLI, SSH, and network tools.
• Perform rapid root-cause analysis on test anomalies and dropsouts.
• Analyze post-test telemetry and generate detailed test summaries.
• Maintain and scale test cell facilities and improve safety/turnaround.
