Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Propulsion Test Engineer to develop, build, and execute test campaigns for production-ready propulsion systems and micro-turbojets. You will own test setups, validate engine performance, and lead live engine runs as Test Director, ensuring safety and data fidelity.

The role includes designing test racks, instrumentation, and software to control engine profiles, plus interpreting telemetry to produce comprehensive test reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 3+ years of propulsion testing, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or engine test cell operations.
• Direct experience as Test Director, console operator, or lead test engineer during live engine runs.
• Experience designing, wiring, and wiring test racks and instrumentation boxes.
• Proficiency in Python for automated test software on Linux/Unix.
• Strong Linux/Unix command-line skills, SSH, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience with CAN bus interfaces and sensor telemetry logging.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Test Director during engine and micro-turbojet hot-fire runs and manage test stand operations.
• Design, build, and maintain propulsion test hardware infrastructure and instrumentation.
• Write Python-based test software to control engine profiles and record telemetry.
• Implement and troubleshoot CAN bus communication with ECUs, actuators, and test stand controllers.
• Develop and validate propulsion test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• Analyze post-test telemetry and generate detailed test summary reports.
• Scale propulsion test cell facilities and improve turnaround times.
