Anduril Industries is seeking a Propulsion Test Engineer to develop, build, and execute test campaigns for production-ready propulsion systems and micro-turbojets. You will own test setups, write Python-based test software on Linux, and serve as Test Director during live engine hot-fire runs to ensure safety and high-fidelity data.

You will design test racks, instrumentations, and acceptance criteria with propulsion engineers, while coordinating with ECU hardware and test stand controllers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields OR 6+ years of hands-on experience
• Experience managing control room operations, test schedules, and inventory tracking
• 5+ years in propulsion testing, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or engine test cell operations
• Direct hands-on propulsion testing experience with micro-turbojet engines
• Experience serving as Test Director or lead during live engine runs or hazardous hot-fire operations
• Design, build, and wiring of test racks, instrumentation boxes, and DAQ systems
• Python-based automated test software on Linux/Unix systems for engine control and data acquisition
• Strong Linux/Unix knowledge, terminal usage, SSH, and network debugging
• CAN bus hardware interfaces and messaging for control and data logging
• Experience selecting/calibrating sensors like pressure transducers, thermocouples, load cells
• Eligible to obtain/maintain active U.S. Secret security clearance

Responsabilités

• Serve as Test Director during engine and micro-turbojet hot-fire runs, managing test stand operations, console communication, go/no-go criteria, and emergency abort procedures
• Design, build, and maintain propulsion test hardware infrastructure, including instrumented racks, sensor harnesses, engine test stands, and thrust fixtures
• Author propulsion test plans, procedures, redline limits, and acceptance criteria with development engineers
• Develop automated Python-based test and data acquisition software for engine profiles and telemetry
• Implement and debug CAN bus interfaces with ECUs, actuators, fuel pumps, and test stand controllers
• Integrate and calibrate propulsion test instrumentation: load cells, transducers, thermocouples, mass flow meters, vibration sensors
• Operate Linux/Unix test systems using terminal tools, SSH, and network debugging utilities
• Perform rapid root-cause analysis on unexpected engine behaviors, dropouts, or hardware anomalies
• Analyze post-test telemetry and generate detailed test summary reports
• Maintain and scale propulsion test cells, improving turnaround time and safety
