Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Propulsion & Fluids Structural Analyst to support design, analysis, and testing of main engines and related hardware for the MK2 Crew Lander. You will perform FEA, strength checks, and FMEA across ground and flight hardware, collaborating with design engineers to optimize weight, strength, and manufacturability.

You will generate FEMs, document analyses, and contribute to hardware qualification campaigns, working with NASA and national partners throughout the program

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering.
  • 5+ years of professional experience performing structural analysis on aircraft, spacecraft or launch vehicle structures.
  • Knowledge of vehicle load path and stress analysis of metallic/composite structures.
  • Familiarity with classical aerospace sizing methods (Bruhn, Niu, Roark).
  • Experience with analysis codes: Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Optistruct, NASGRO.

Responsibilities

  • Performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA), generate FEMs.
  • Performing strength checks using classical hand calculations.
  • Conducting FMEA for critical components.
  • Creating reports and supporting hardware qualifications.
  • Collaborating with design engineers to optimize weight and strength.
  • Documenting structural analyses for release of drawings/documents.
  • Providing input for configuration development and trade studies.
  • Mentoring junior analysts in stress analysis.
