Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Structural Analyst III in the Fluids & Propulsion group for the Crew Lunar Lander program. The role focuses on detailed structural analysis of propulsion hardware and vehicle structures, including FEA, strength checks, and FMEA across ground and flight hardware lifecycles.

You will work with NASA and National Team partners to support MK2 Crewed Lunar Lander development, including design optimization and documentation, with on-site collaboration and travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering required.
  • 5+ years of structural analysis experience on aircraft, spacecraft or launch vehicle structures.
  • Knowledge of vehicle load paths and stress analysis for metallic/composite structures.
  • Experience with at least one major analysis code (Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Optistruct, NASGRO).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and travel on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and generate FEMs.
  • Conduct strength checks using classical hand calculations.
  • Perform FMEA for critical components.
  • Plan and execute test campaigns and report hardware qualifications.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to optimize weight, strength, and manufacturability.
  • Document and review analyses to release drawings/documents.
  • Mentor junior analysts in stress and fracture analysis.
