Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Propulsion & Fluids Structural Analyst on the Lunar Permanence program to support MK2 Crew Lander. You will perform detailed structural analysis, verify via FEA, and mentor junior analysts throughout the product lifecycle.

The role requires on-site work in Merritt Island, FL with occasional travel, collaboration with NASA, and a focus on weight, strength, and manufacturability in propulsion systems.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering or equivalent degree.
  • 5+ years of professional experience performing structural analysis on aircraft, spacecraft or launch vehicle structures.
  • Knowledge of vehicle load path and stress analysis for metallic/composite structures.
  • Familiarity with classical aerospace sizing methods (Bruhn, Niu, Roark, etc.).
  • Experience with at least one analysis code: Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Optistruct, NASGRO.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and travel on-site as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and generate FEMs.
  • Conduct strength checks using classical hand calculations.
  • Perform FMEA for critical components.
  • Develop test campaigns and create qualification reports.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to optimize weight, strength, and manufacturability.
  • Document and review structural analyses to support drawings and documents.
  • Provide input for configuration development and trade studies.
  • Mentor designers and junior analysts in stress analyses and processes.
  • Leverage AI tools to improve structural analysis workflows.
