Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Propulsion & Fluids Structural Analyst to support development and testing of the MK2 Crew Lander propulsion system. This vehicle-centric role covers the complete life cycle from development testing through flight operations, ensuring structural integrity of ground and flight hardware.

You will perform Finite Element Analysis, strength checks, FMEA, and collaborate with design engineers to optimize weight, strength, and manufacturability, with on-site work and occasional

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering required with 5+ years of structural analysis experience on aerospace vehicles.
  • Experience with vehicle load paths and stress analysis of metallic/composite structures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to generate FEMs.
  • Perform strength checks using classical hand calculations.
  • Conduct Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) for critical components.
  • Make predictions, run test campaigns, and create reports for hardware qualifications.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to optimize weight, strength, and manufacturability.
  • Document and review structural analyses to support release of drawings/documents.
  • Provide input for configuration development and trade studies.
  • Mentor designers and junior analysts in stress analysis and standard processes.
  • Leverage AI tools to improve structural analysis processes.
