Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Propulsion & Fluids Structural Analyst to support the MK2 Crew Lander, performing detailed structural analyses of propulsion hardware and collaborating with a high‑performing team. You will apply FEA, strength checks, FMEA, and regression reporting to qualification tests, working closely with design engineers to optimize weight, strength and manufacturability.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering required.
  • 5+ years in structural analysis for aerospace.
  • Knowledge of load paths and stress analysis of metallic/composite structures.
  • Familiarity with classical aerospace sizing methods (Bruhn, Niu, Roark).
  • Knowledge of engineering materials and their applications.
  • Experience with at least one of the specified analysis codes.
  • Willingness to work on-site with travel.

Responsibilities

  • Performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA), generate FEMs
  • Performing strength checks using classical hand calculations
  • Conducting Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) for critical components
  • Making predictions, implementing test campaigns, and creating reports in support of hardware qualifications
  • Collaborating with design engineers to optimize designs for weight, strength, and manufacturability
  • Documentation and review of structural analyses to support the release of engineering drawings/documents
  • Providing input for configuration development and trade studies as needed
  • Mentoring and analysis checks for designers and junior structural analysts in stress/stability/fracture analysis and standard processes.
  • Leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to improve structural analysis processes
