Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a design engineer to develop, release, and support engineering artifacts for the MK2 Crew Lander propulsion system. You will own CAD models and coordinate analysis, verification, and manufacturing development across the life cycle of multiple fluid systems.

You will collaborate with manufacturing and operations to ensure cost-effective, manufacturable designs, mentor junior staff, and perform basic structural analyses to support reliable spaceflight.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related field.
• 10+ years designing tubes, fluid components, secondary structures.
• 5+ years generating 3D models and drawings in Creo for complex fluid hardware.
• Experience releasing model-based designs.
• Ability to mentor entry level engineers.
• Experience performing structural hand calculations and ANSYS analyses.
• Experience interpreting P&IDs, GD&T (ASME Y14.5).

Responsibilities

• Generate CAD models for propulsion fluid system hardware.
• Create model-based designs for engineering release.
• Lead design-for-manufacturability for fluid assemblies.
• Coordinate with operations for fabrication and installation.
• Perform basic structural analysis on fluid hardware.
• Author engineering artifacts to support verification.
