Job summary

Blue Origin’s Lunar Permanence team seeks an experienced fluids & propulsion engineer to design and own fluid system hardware for the MK2 Crew Lander. You will own CAD models end-to-end, coordinate analysis and fabrication, and drive design for manufacturability for hypergolic and helium systems.

You will collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to deliver robust hardware, define hardware like heaters and mounts, and perform structural analysis to ensure reliability across the life

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience designing hypergolic and/or helium system tubes and fluid components.
• Experience generating 3D models and drawings in Creo for complex fluid hardware.
• Professional experience specifying fluid fittings and mounts.
• Experience performing the structural hand calculations and analysis with tools such as ANSYS.
• Experience interpreting P&IDs.
• Expertise in ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
• Experience with static and non-linear FEA analysis (ANSYS).
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of collaboration and inclusion.
• Export Control and citizenship requirements for U.S. positions.

Responsibilities

• Generating CAD models for hypergolic and/or helium fluid system hardware.
• Generating model based design for engineering artifact release.
• Leading design for manufacturability efforts for fluid component assemblies.
• Work with supply chain to procure hardware and manage vendor deliverables.
• Define and implement supporting hardware such as heaters, instrumentation, mounts, and valves.
• Performing basic structural analysis on fluid system hardware.
