Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a design engineer to develop and support propulsion hardware for the MK2 Crew Lander. You will own CAD models, release model-based designs, and work with manufacturing on fabrication and verification.

The role requires a B.S. in Mechanical/Aerospace, 10+ years in fluid hardware design, Creo proficiency, and experience with ANSYS for structural analysis. US citizenship or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
• 10+ years designing tubes, fluid components, secondary structure, etc.
• 5+ years generating 3D models and drawings in Creo for complex fluid hardware.
• Experience releasing model-based designs.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor entry level engineers.
• Experience performing structural hand calculations and analysis with ANSYS.
• Experience interpreting P&IDs and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• U.S. citizen or eligible for work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Generate CAD models for propulsion fluid system hardware.
• Generate model-based designs for engineering release.
• Lead design-for-manufacturability for fluid component assemblies.
• Integrate with operations for fabrication and installation of hardware.
• Perform basic structural analysis on fluid system hardware.
• Author engineering artifacts to support verification.
