Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a design engineer in Florida to own CAD releases for the MK2 Crew Lander propulsion system. You will design propulsion fluid components, own CAD models end-to-end, and coordinate with manufacturing through full lifecycle stages from concept to operation.

You will mentor entry level engineers, perform basic structural analysis with ANSYS, release model-based designs, and ensure manufacturability and cost considerations are integrated into every design.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience designing tubes, fluid components, secondary structure, etc.
• 5+ years of experience generating 3D models and drawings in Creo for complex fluid hardware.
• Experience releasing model based designs.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor entry level engineers.
• Experience performing structural hand calculations and analysis with ANSYS.
• Experience interpreting P&IDs.
• Expertise in ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Ability to earn trust and collaborate across teams.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Generating CAD models for propulsion fluid system hardware.
• Generating model based designs for engineering release.
• Leading design for manufacturability efforts for fluid component assemblies.
• Integrating with operations for the fabrication and installation of hardware.
• Performing basic structural analysis on fluid system hardware.
• Authoring engineering artifacts to support verification.
