Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a design engineer to develop, release, and support engineering artifacts for the MK2 Crew Lander propulsion system. You will own CAD models for propulsion fluid systems and work with manufacturing through full life cycle from concept to operations.

You will mentor entry level engineers, perform basic structural analyses, and ensure manufacturability and cost discipline in CAD designs.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
• 10+ years designing tubes, fluid components, secondary structure, etc.
• 5+ years generating 3D models and drawings in Creo for complex fluid hardware.
• Experience releasing model based designs.
• Mentoring entry level engineers.
• Experience performing structural hand calculations and analysis with ANSYS.
• Experience interpreting P&IDs.
• Expertise in ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• Ability to earn trust and contribute to collaboration and inclusion.
• U.S. citizen/national or eligible work status.

Responsibilities

• Generating CAD models for propulsion fluid system hardware.
• Generating model-based designs for engineering release.
• Leading DFM efforts for fluid component assemblies.
• Integrating with operations for fabrication and installation.
• Performing basic structural analysis on fluid hardware.
• Authoring artifacts to support verification.
