Job summary

Blue Origin LLC seeks a Senior Proposal Engineer to develop high-level architectures and ROM costs for cryogenic test systems. You will design fluids and structural systems, coordinate with suppliers, and support construction and commissioning across Blue Origin facilities.

The role involves mentoring engineers, leading design reviews, and applying rigorous safety and quality practices to enable safe and repeatable spaceflight. U.S. citizenship or eligible status is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years designing complex structural and/or fluids systems in safety-critical environments.
• Experience with fluid analysis and piping design, including component selection and architecture.
• Knowledge of cryogenic fluids, propellants, valves, regulators and pumps.
• Experience with ASME B31.3 and ASME BPVC codes.
• Proven leadership or mentorship of technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Own preliminary design and cost estimation of high-pressure gas and cryogenic test systems.
• Write memos summarizing trade studies and architecture selections.
• Coordinate with test article owners to refine scope and requirements.
• Lead process hazard analysis (HAZOP) for fluid systems.
• Manage suppliers, schedule, and technical design requirements.
• Provide on-site and remote support during fabrication and startup.
• Mentor engineers and perform peer reviews.
