Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Cryogenic Responsible Engineer to lead the design, development, and certification of cryogenic propellant management devices for the Blue Moon lunar program. You will own hardware end-to-end, from definition to vehicle integration, coordinating with internal and external suppliers to meet rigorous spaceflight requirements.

Qualifications

  • BS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical subject area.
  • 8+ years of cryogenic fluids and mechanical systems experience.
  • Experience developing, integrating and certifying aerospace systems for flight.
  • Experience with cryogenic fluid management techniques and technologies.
  • Experience leading small teams and subcontractor teams to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Desired: MS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical subject area.

Responsibilities

  • Define, own, and control the liquid subsystem technical baseline, performing technical work and providing technical leadership of the highest caliber.
  • Manage internal and external procurements and internal hardware dependencies required to meet subsystem deliveries.
  • Lead and perform technical trades on cryogenic systems that meet vehicle and customer needs.
  • Own hardware drawing release, manufacturing plan development, manufacturing support and integration onto the vehicle.
  • Lead internal and external cryogenic technological development meetings.
  • Cradle-to-grave ownership of cryogenic system.
