Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL is seeking a Senior Proposal Engineer to develop high level architectures and ROM costs for cryogenic test systems supporting space vehicle programs.

You will lead design refinements, coordinate with suppliers, and mentor junior engineers while delivering safe, cost-efficient test facilities. A BS in engineering and 10+ years in safe-critical fluids/structural design are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in a relevant engineering field.
• 10+ years designing complex structural and/or fluids systems in safety-critical environments.
• Experience with fluid analysis, piping design, and selection of components.
• Knowledge of piping fabrication methods and ASME codes.
• Proven leadership or mentorship experience in technical teams.
• Clear communication and ability to present to broad audiences.
• US citizenship or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Own preliminary design and ROM cost estimation for cryogenic test systems.
• Write memos summarizing trade studies and architecture choices.
• Coordinate with test article owners on scope and requirements.
• Lead HAZOP activities for fluid systems.
• Manage suppliers and cost/schedule/technical design coordination.
• Provide remote and on-site support during fabrication and startup.
• Mentor engineers and perform peer reviews.
