Job summary

American Family Insurance in Madison, WI is seeking an experienced Claims Adjuster to investigate and manage property claims from initial report through resolution. You will determine liability, gather and evaluate information, review policy coverages, coordinate appraisals, and negotiate settlements.

There is also an Associate Adjuster level offering an hourly role to build foundational claims handling experience. Competitive salary range and relocation support provided.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
• Demonstrated experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across operating territories.
• Demonstrated experience handling moderately complex claims.
• Solid knowledge of casualty policies and endorsements.
• Strong understanding of each phase of the claim handling process.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of claims by contacting insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors and others.
• Identifies complex issues and seeks assistance as needed while handling claims in good faith.
• Manages 1st and 3rd party claims across multiple policy types and endorsements.
• Conducts on-site inspections, evaluates damages, negotiates settlements with insureds and claimants.
• Responds to inquiries and closes files as appropriate.
