Job summary

GE Vernova Hydro Power in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Lead Project Planner to partner with project leadership, defining scheduling strategy for complex, high‑risk projects and driving cross‑functional alignment and risk mitigation.

You will mentor Planners, lead schedule reviews with customers and partners, ensure baselines and change controls, and support cost/schedule performance while meeting contractual commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of planning and scheduling in EPC or similar.
• Advanced Primavera P6 proficiency.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, integration, and maintenance of project schedules and baselines for complex projects.
• Define the project planning approach, schedule strategy, and governance in alignment with execution strategy and contractual requirements.
• Drive baseline development and freeze processes across project functions.
• Perform advanced schedule analysis including critical path, float erosion, impact analysis, interface analysis, and what-if scenario modeling.
• Lead identification of schedule risks and opportunities and drive mitigation, acceleration, and recovery plans with project teams.
• Support or lead development of committed schedules, rebaselines, and schedule strategies related to change or delay situations.
• Ensure planning deliverables support project reviews, management decision-making, and customer communication requirements.
• Lead planning reviews with project leadership, customers, consortium partners, and other key stakeholders when required.
• Challenge execution assumptions and help shape project priorities through schedule insight and structured analysis.
• Oversee schedule quality, planning assumptions, and consistency of planning outputs.
• Mentor Planners and Schedulers and promote planning standards, methods, and best practices.
• Support schedule-related claims analysis, delay assessments, and change impact evaluations where required.
• Contribute to improvement of planning processes, tools, and project execution practices.
