Job summary

GPAC is seeking a Sr Project Manager for a leading East Coast steel fabrication and erection firm in Charlotte, NC. This role leads a growing team of Project Managers, expedites projects, manages logistics, and coordinates inspections to keep timelines and quality on track.

You will collaborate across departments through the project life cycle, mentor junior PMs, and drive delivery with a strong focus on teamwork and communication in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of project management experience in the structural steel fabrication industry.
• Ability to read and interpret sketches and blueprints, including design, construction and sub-contractor drawings.
• Mastery of AISC codes.

Responsibilities

• Attend kick-off meetings to discuss new projects.
• Mentor younger project managers.
• Coordinate sequencing with General Contractors.
• Maintain submittal tracking and push for timely responses.
• Communicate with field superintendents to confirm delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with detailers for release of jobs to fabrication.
• Update the project schedule as needed.
• Address and service any field problems promptly.
