Job summary

United Steel, New England's largest fabricator and erector of structural steel and miscellaneous metals, seeks an experienced Project Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate designated projects ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and customer satisfaction.

The role emphasizes relationship management with clients, project teams, and subcontractors, and requires 5+ years in structural steel project management.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of project management experience in steel fabrication/erection.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is a plus.
• Must be a self-starter with ability to work in teams or independently.
• Strong sense of urgency, multitasking, and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient in common PM tools.
• Ability to travel locally (25-40%).
• Pass criminal background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and coordinate designated projects to meet goals within time and budget.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, project managers, and subcontractors.
• Communicate scope, safety, and construction methods to the team and stakeholders.
• Prepare schedules, approve subcontracts, and manage change orders.
• Review financials, invoices, and project documentation for accuracy.
• Travel to project sites for weekly/bi-weekly meetings and site verification.
• Ensure adherence to safety rules and company procedures.
