Job summary

American Electric Power in Longview, TX is seeking a senior Project Manager to oversee complex construction utility projects in a matrix environment. You will lead planning, scheduling, budgeting and stakeholder communications, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of project management experience.
PMP certification required unless waiver is approved by SVP or OPCO President.
Valid state driver’s license.
Experience in utilities, nuclear power and/or IT systems is favorable.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage assigned project activities with expert level of proficiency in all aspects.
Lead planning meetings and project updates including detailed stakeholder presentations and concise reports.
Develop and actively manage project plans, schedules, budgets, tools, and staff; reallocate funding as needed.
Communicate project details and status to internal and external customers, team members, suppliers and regulators.
Represent AEP with industrial customers, vendors and regulators as assigned; ensure alignment with PM standards.
