Job summary

American Electric Power in the United States is seeking an experienced Project Manager Staff to lead complex EPC and CCGT projects within a matrix organization. You will direct, train, and coordinate project activity using Waterfall and Agile methodologies, ensuring safety, cost control, and stakeholder satisfaction.

You will engage with internal/external customers, manage budgets, and drive project governance while upholding AEP standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or related field with ten (10) years qualified experience.
• PMP certification required for this position unless waiver is approved by SVP or OPCO President.
• Valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage assigned project activities with expert level of proficiency in all aspects using Waterfall and Agile methods.
• Support and hold employees and contractors accountable for the AEP System Safety Process, ensuring Zero Harm.
• Manage project plan, schedule, budget, tools, and staff; control costs and reallocate funding as needed.
• Communicate project/outage details and status updates; lead planning meetings and audience-ready presentations.
• Develop and manage relationships with project teams, plant staff, internal/external customers, partners, contractors and vendors.
• Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to improve design, processes, schedules, and costs.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and demonstrate SME level performance on all projects.
• Represent AEP with industrial customers, vendors, regulators as assigned.
• Align projects with AEP PM standards and ensure adherence.
