Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Project Manager Sr to lead intermediate to complex projects within a matrix team environment. You will plan, organize, direct, and supervise project activities, applying Waterfall and Agile methods to ensure safe, economical delivery and maximum customer satisfaction.

You will mentor other managers, manage procurement and contracts, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders while supporting continuous improvement and project benefits realization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, Computer Science, or related field with five years’ qualified experience; OR Associate’s degree with seven years; OR High School Diploma with nine years.
• PMP certification is preferred but not required; PMP for certain staff levels.
• Experience in project management, construction, estimating, controls, and/or comparable environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise assigned project activities using Waterfall or Agile methodologies.
• Develop and manage project/outage plans, schedules and budgets; monitor costs and funding reallocations.
• Provide clear written and oral reports; lead stakeholder meetings and maintain transparent project status.
