Job summary

Clear Concepts, Inc. in Greensboro, NC seeks a Project Manager for heavy civil/NCDOT work across central North Carolina.

You will run NCDOT road, bridge and utility projects from preconstruction through closeout with a self-perform team and direct line to senior leadership. This role requires 5+ years as PM of record on heavy civil projects, documented NCDOT PM experience, and a strong track record in cost control, schedules, and subcontractor management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as PM of record on heavy civil, highway, bridge or utility work for a contractor.
• Documented NCDOT project experience as the PM is required.
• Experience running projects from start to finish, not an assistant role.
• Contractor-side background only; design/inspection-only backgrounds not suitable.
• Strong cost control, scheduling, change orders and field team management.
• OSHA 30 is a plus.
• Candidates from Central North Carolina preferred; relocation welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Manage NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Own budget, schedule, cost reports, forecasting and margin for each project.
• Submit cost and income projections and address variances.
• Lead superintendents, field engineers and subcontractors to hit production, quality and safety.
• Serve as main contact for NCDOT, owners, engineers, inspectors and vendors.
• Issue subcontracts and purchase orders; manage subcontractor performance.
• Handle change orders, pay estimates, submittals, claims and documentation.
• Run weekly project meetings on schedule and cost; coordinate with estimating on bids.
• Maintain a strong safety culture on every site.
