Job summary

Your Talent Team in Cary, NC is seeking a Project Manager to lead NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects from preconstruction through closeout. You’ll own budgets, schedules, forecasts and margins, and coordinate with superintendents, engineers and subcontractors to deliver on time and to spec.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years as PM of record on heavy civil projects, NCDOT experience, and a track record of managing cost control and safety on self-perform work.

Qualifications

• Experience as PM of record on heavy civil, highway, bridge or utility work.
• NCDOT project experience is required and must be named if asked.
• Strong cost control, scheduling, and field team management skills.
• Self-perform project exposure is preferred; consultant or design background not suitable.
• OSHA 30 or higher is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects as PM of record from preconstruction to closeout.
• Own the budget, schedule, cost reports, forecasting and margin on every job.
• Submit accurate cost and income projections and react to variances early.
• Lead superintendents, field engineers and subcontractors to hit production, quality and safety.
• Serve as main contact for NCDOT, owners, engineers, inspectors and vendors.
• Issue subcontracts and purchase orders; manage subcontractor performance.
• Handle change orders, pay estimates, submittals, claims and contracts docs.
• Run weekly project meetings on schedule and cost; report to leadership.
• Collaborate with estimating on bids and handoffs to start jobs right.
• Maintain a strong safety culture on every site.
