CareerNerds, LLC in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Project Manager for NCDOT heavy civil work. You will manage roadway, bridge and utility projects from preconstruction through closeout, owning budgets, schedules, and cost reporting while leading field teams and coordinating with NCDOT and inspectors.

The role requires 5+ years as PM of record on heavy civil projects, proven NCDOT experience, and a contractor-side background.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years as PM of record on heavy civil, highway, bridge or utility work.
• Proven NCDOT project experience as PM; able to name the jobs.
• Experience running projects end to end; not suitable for an APM/Engineer role.
• Contractor-side background; not suitable for consultant/designer roles.
• Strong cost control, scheduling, change orders and field team management.
• Experience with Vista and HCSS HeavyJob preferred.
• BS in Civil Eng. or Construction Management or equivalent field experience.
• OSHA 30 is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Run NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Own the budget, schedule, cost reports, forecasting and margins.
• Submit accurate cost and income projections and act on variances early.
• Lead superintendents, field engineers and subcontractors to hit production, quality and safety.
• Serve as main contact for NCDOT, owners, engineers, inspectors and vendors.
• Issue subcontracts and purchase orders and manage subcontractor performance.
• Handle change orders, pay estimates, submittals, claims and contracts docs.
• Run weekly project meetings on schedule and cost; collaborate with estimating on bids.
• Maintain strong safety culture on every site.
