Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a Project Manager II to lead larger, more complex heavy civil projects. You will own strategy, financial performance, risk management, client relationships, and team leadership on an on-site, travel‑heavy role.

You’ll collaborate with superintendents, engineers, and project partners to turn plans into results, delivering safe, efficient operations and strong financial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5–10 years of progressively responsible construction experience, preferably heavy civil.
• Proven leadership of complex projects including finances, scheduling, contracts and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead project strategy, startup, planning, execution and closeout for large/complex projects.
• Set the standard for safe, efficient operations across the project.
• Direct project teams and align labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Establish clear expectations, communication, and accountability across the project.
• Own project budgets, costs, revenues, cash flow, and forecasts.
• Analyze performance and lead timely actions on risks and opportunities.
• Lead development and management of project schedule and major contracts.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Mentor Project Managers and project personnel; build team capability.
• Travel to multiple active construction sites as needed.
