Job summary

Granite Construction Company is seeking a seasoned project director to lead heavy civil construction efforts ranging from $15 to $49 million. You will drive forecasting, budgeting, and bid accuracy, while coordinating with estimators, area managers, and project teams to ensure profitable, on-time delivery.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering/Construction Management or related field and 5+ years in heavy civil, paving, dirt, and grading environments, with strong leadership and

Qualifications

• Five+ years of progressive project experience in heavy civil environments.
• 5+ years of experience in paving, dirt, and grading in either private or public environments.
• Knowledge of union agreements and prevailing wage issues.
• Ability to work in a high production environment and demonstrate sound leadership.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate project revenue and cost financial forecasting to ensure profitability.
• Coordinate with estimators and project controls to establish budget.
• Lead estimating efforts on vertically integrated projects to ensure accurate bid-to-build process.
• Coordinate with area managers to manage resources and meet project schedule.
• Participate in bid review and bid closing to ensure bid accuracy and feasibility.
• Develop comprehensive project startup plans and kick-offs with the project team.
• Provide environment for effective project communication among engineers, foremen, superintendents, and area managers.
• Ensure proper job controls: quantities, costs, revenue, and schedule.
• Establish relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, and clients to build partnerships.
• Ensure accurate construction reports for continuous performance improvement.
• Run projects at profitable margins and support safety initiatives.
