Job summary

Sunrock is hiring a Project Manager (Heavy Civil Construction) to lead the full lifecycle of infrastructure projects, from estimating to closeout. You will partner with general superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and customers to ensure safety, on-time delivery, and budget adherence.

The role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a field-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in construction project management, estimating, or heavy civil operations.
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, MSHA, and OSHA regulations
• Promote and enforce safe work practices across all project teams
• Manage project schedules, sequencing, and resource allocation
• Lead project estimating efforts, including scope development and cost analysis
• Review contracts, plans, and specifications to ensure scope accuracy and risk mitigation
• Track project costs, budgets, and financial performance to ensure profitability
• Oversee billing processes, forecasting, and cost reporting
• Provide regular project updates, forecasts, and performance insights to leadership and clients
• Serve as the primary liaison between field operations, subcontractors, and customers
• Support subcontractor selection, negotiation, and performance management
• Identify project risks and proactively implement solutions to maintain schedule and budget
• Respond to delays, emergencies, and field challenges
• Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements
• Maintain accurate project documentation including contracts, change orders, and reports
• Drive accountability, communication, and performance across project teams
• Participate in continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned
