Job summary

Sunrock is seeking an experienced Project Manager (Heavy Civil Construction) to lead comprehensive project lifecycles from estimating through closeout on North Carolina sites. You will coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to deliver safe, on-time, and on-budget outcomes.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in construction project management, strong cost control and communication skills, and a background with DOT/infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction project management, estimating, or heavy civil operations.
• Experience with NCDOT, municipal, or infrastructure projects preferred.
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Lead project estimating efforts, including scope development and cost analysis.
• Manage project schedules, sequencing, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate material flow, subcontractors, and field operations.
• Review contracts, plans, and specifications to ensure scope accuracy and risk mitigation.
• Track project costs, budgets, and financial performance to ensure profitability.
• Oversee billing processes, forecasting, and cost reporting.
• Provide regular project updates, forecasts, and performance insights to leadership and clients.
• Serve as the primary liaison between field operations, subcontractors, and customers.
• Identify project risks and proactively implement solutions to maintain schedule and budget.
• Respond to delays, emergencies, and field challenges.
• Maintain accurate project documentation including contracts, change orders, and reports.
• Drive accountability, communication, and performance across project teams.
• Participate in continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
