Job summary

Sunrock Industries seeks a Project Manager (Heavy Civil Construction) to lead the full lifecycle of complex projects in North Carolina. You will manage estimating, planning, execution, budgets, and closeout while coordinating with superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure safety, on-time delivery, and profitability.

Responsibilities include developing schedules, cost control, contract reviews, reporting to leadership, and ensuring MSHA/OSHA compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of experience in construction project management, estimating, or heavy civil operations required
• Experience with NCDOT, municipal, or infrastructure projects strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations (MSHA/OSHA)
• Manage project schedules, sequencing, and resource allocation
• Coordinate material flow, subcontractors, and field operations
• Lead project estimating efforts, including scope development and cost analysis
• Review contracts, plans, and specifications for accuracy and risk
• Track project costs, budgets, and financial performance to ensure profitability
• Oversee billing, forecasting, and cost reporting
• Provide regular project updates to leadership and clients
• Serve as liaison between field operations, subcontractors, and customers
• Identify risks and implement solutions to maintain schedule and budget
