Job summary

Sunrock is seeking a Project Manager for heavy civil construction to lead full project lifecycles from estimating through closeout. You will partner with superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

The role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a field-driven environment with occasional travel. Strong communication and planning skills are essential.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in construction project management, estimating, or heavy civil operations.
Education preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
Valid North Carolina Driver’s License required.
Experience with NCDOT, municipal, or infrastructure projects preferred.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical documents.

Responsibilities

Lead project estimating efforts, including scope development and cost analysis.
Manage project schedules, sequencing, and resource allocation.
Coordinate material flow, subcontractors, and field operations.
Track project costs, budgets, and financial performance to ensure profitability.
Oversee billing processes, forecasting, and cost reporting.
Provide regular project updates, forecasts, and performance insights to leadership and clients.
Serve as the primary liaison between field operations, subcontractors, and customers.
