Job summary

Sunrock in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Project Manager for heavy civil construction to lead the full lifecycle of projects from estimation to closeout. You will partner with superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to deliver safely, on time, and within budget.

Typical work involves coordinating schedules, resources, and costs; reviewing plans and contracts; and providing regular updates to leadership. Overnight travel up to 10% may be required; strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in construction project management, estimating, or heavy civil operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety policies, MSHA, and OSHA regulations.
• Manage project schedules, sequencing, and resource allocation.
• Lead project estimating efforts, including scope development and cost analysis.
• Review contracts, plans, and specifications to ensure scope accuracy and risk mitigation.
• Track project costs, budgets, and financial performance to ensure profitability.
• Oversee billing processes, forecasting, and cost reporting.
• Provide regular project updates, forecasts, and performance insights to leadership and clients.
• Serve as the primary liaison between field operations, subcontractors, and customers.
• Support subcontractor selection, negotiation, and performance management.
• Identify project risks and implement solutions to maintain schedule and budget.
