Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking a Senior Project Manager to direct large-scale heavy civil projects up to $15 million. This role focuses on profitability, budgeting, and cross-functional leadership across estimators, project controls, and field teams.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years of progressive project experience in heavy civil environments, including paving, dirt, and grading. Strong leadership and safety compliance are essential for success at Granite.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of paving, underground, concrete and grading practices.
• Understanding of union agreements and prevailing wage issues.
• Ability to work in a high production environment.
• Demonstrated decision‑making skills.
• Excellent leadership and supervisory communication.

Responsibilities

• Forecast project revenue and costs to meet profitability goals.
• Coordinate with estimators and controls to establish budget.
• Lead estimating on vertically integrated projects for bid to build process.
• Coordinate with sponsors, managers to meet project schedule and resources.
• Participate in bid review and bid closing for accurate bids.
• Develop comprehensive startup plans with sponsors and project teams.
• Foster effective communication among project engineers, foremen, superintendents and CMs.
• Maintain proper job controls: quantities, costs, revenue, schedule.
• Build relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors for long-term partnerships.
• Provide accurate construction reports to drive continuous improvement.
• Manage projects at or above target margins and ensure safety compliance.
