Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking an experienced project leader to oversee complex heavy civil construction projects valued from $15 million to $49 million, guiding scope, schedule, and profitability. This role emphasizes budgeting, bid development, safety, and stakeholder coordination with owners, subcontractors, and regulators, ensuring high performance and client satisfaction.

Applicants should have a BS in Civil Engineering or related field, 5–10 years of progressive field

Qualifications

• Knowledge of paving, underground, concrete and grading practices.
• Understanding of union agreements and prevailing wage issues.
• Ability to work in a high production environment.
• Strong leadership and supervisory communication skills.
• Accurate at all times.

Responsibilities

• Forecast project revenue and costs to achieve profitability.
• Set budgets with estimators and project controls.
• Lead bid estimation and manage bid process.
• Coordinate resources to meet project schedules.
• Develop startup plans with sponsors and managers for successful kick-off.
• Facilitate effective communication among project team members (Engineers, Foremen, Superintendents).
• Maintain controls on quantities, costs, revenue and schedule.
• Build relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, and inspectors to support client satisfaction.
• Generate construction reports to enable continuous improvement.
• Deliver projects at or above target margins.
• Support safety initiatives across the site.
