Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Project Manager to plan, direct, and supervise complex projects in a safe, efficient, and customer-focused manner at its New Albany, Ohio site.

You will lead planning meetings, manage budgets and schedules, mentor sub-project managers, develop procurement plans, and ensure compliance with the AEP System Safety Process. Position requires relevant degree with 3–7 years experience, PMP preferred, and up to 25% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3 years qualified experience; or 2-year Associate with 5 years; or HS diploma with 7 years.
• PMP certification is preferred but not required.
• Valid state driver’s license is required.
• Experience in utilities, nuclear power, and/or IT systems is favorable.
• Outage management, project controls, cost estimating, and contracting experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise project activities.
• Communicate project details and status updates to stakeholders.
• Develop procurement plans and manage contracts for outside services.
• Mentor other project managers and lead project meetings.
• Ensure safety via the AEP System Safety Process and drive continuous improvement.
