Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) seeks a Senior Project Manager Staff to lead complex EPC programs and IT projects in a matrix environment across APCO regions (West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee). You will plan, direct and control project activities, manage schedules and budgets, and communicate with stakeholders to achieve on-time, within-budget outcomes.

The role requires strong leadership, risk management and contract skills, with travel up to 50% for short durations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in construction management, engineering, business, CS, or related field with 10 years of qualified experience.
• Associate's degree with 12 years of qualified experience or HS diploma with 14 years of qualified experience.
• PMP certification required unless waiver granted by senior leadership.
• Experience in utilities, nuclear power, and/or IT systems is favorable.
• Mastery in scope, cost estimation, risk management, contracting, and project controls.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, coordinate and manage assigned project activities with expert proficiency.
• Communicate project status and prepare detailed stakeholder presentations.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, tools, and staff.
• Ensure safety and compliance with AEP safety processes and Zero Harm.
• Travel typically up to 25% but could reach 50% for short durations.
