Job summary

AMERICAN ELECTRIC POWER (AEP) is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead EPC and Combined Cycle Gas Turbine projects in our Ohio and Kentucky service areas. You will direct planning, execution, and closing phases, coordinating with internal teams, customers, contractors, and regulators to ensure high-value, zero-harm project outcomes.

The role requires strong leadership, risk management, and communication skills, with experience across multiple project management domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with seven years of project management experience in construction, engineering, or IT environments.
• PMP certification is preferred but not required; strong knowledge of PM standards and governance.
• Experience with safety, cost control, scheduling, and stakeholder communications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise assigned project and outage activities.
• Use project management methods (Waterfall, Agile) for planning and control.
• Develop procurement plans and manage outside contracts and vendors.
• Lead meetings, provide status updates and detailed written reports.
• Ensure safety policies and Zero Harm commitments are followed.
• Mentor and develop junior project managers and staff.
