Job summary

AMERICAN ELECTRIC POWER (PSO) seeks a senior Project Manager to lead complex EPC and CCGT projects within a matrix team. You will direct planning, budgeting, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure safe, economical project delivery and high customer satisfaction.

You will mentor teams, ensure adherence to AEP standards, and maintain transparent communications with sponsors, contractors, and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or related field with ten (10) years qualified experience; OR,
• Associate’s degree in the same required disciplines with twelve (12) years of qualified experience; OR,
• High School Diploma/GED with fourteen (14) years of qualified experience (see below).
• Three (3) years of experience as a PROJECT MANAGER PRINCIPAL (Grade 9) is preferred, OR demonstrated competencies in shorter timeline.
• Qualified experience includes work in project management, major construction field experience, project estimating, project controls, project engineering, and/or comparable internal or external experience in a competitive production environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage assigned project activities with expert level of proficiency in all aspects.
• Ensure safe working environment with focus on Zero Harm.
• Develop and coordinate project plan, schedule, budget, tools, and staff; manage cost and funding allocation.
• Communicate project/outage details and status updates; lead planning meetings and complex stakeholder presentations.
• Develop working relationships with project teams, customers, contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Provide guidance, instruction, and training to improve design, systems, processes, and costs.
• Represent AEP with industrial customers, vendors, and regulators as assigned.
• Apply AEP project management standards across projects.
