Job summary

Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) within American Electric Power seeks a senior Project Manager Staff to lead complex EPC/CCGT programs across East Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. You will direct planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management while coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure safe, on-time delivery.

The role requires PMP certification, extensive utilities/project management experience, and strong communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

PMP certification is required unless waived by SVP or OPCO President.
Valid state driver’s license.
Experience in project management, major construction, project controls, estimating, and/or IT systems.
Demonstrated mastery in safety, negotiations, scope development, cost estimating, contracting and risk management.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage assigned project activities using Waterfall or Agile methods.
Ensure a safe working environment following the AEP System Safety Process.
Manage project plan, schedule, budget, tools and staff; reallocate funding as needed.
Communicate project status with detailed stakeholder presentations and clear reports.
Develop and manage relationships with customers, partners, vendors and internal teams.
Provide guidance and training to others to improve design, processes, schedules and costs.
Represent AEP with industrial customers, vendors and regulators as assigned.
Align projects with AEP PMO standards and organizational guidelines.
