American Electric Power (on-site) seeks a Project Manager Staff Sr. to lead high complexity EPC programs in East Texas for SWEPCO, operating within a matrix organization and prioritizing safety and stakeholder satisfaction.

The role requires PMP certification, a strong background in utilities or IT, and 10+ years of project management experience. Base salary spans $161K–$208K with comprehensive rewards and opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CM, engineering, business, CS with 10 years of qualified experience; or an Associate degree with 12 years; or HS diploma with 14 years of qualified experience.
PM certification (PMP) required unless waiver by SVP or OPCO President.
Valid state driver's license.
Experience in utilities, nuclear, or IT systems is favorable.
3 years as PROJECT MANAGER PRINCIPAL (Grade 9) preferred or demonstrated competencies through results.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage assigned project activities using Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
Ensure safety through the AEP System Safety Process and Zero Harm emphasis.
Manage project plan, schedule, budget, tools and staff, and reallocate funding as needed.
Communicate detailed project/outage status and lead stakeholder presentations.
Develop relationships with internal/external customers, partners, vendors, and suppliers.
Provide guidance and training to improve designs, processes, schedules and costs.
Represent AEP with customers, vendors, and regulators on assigned projects.
