Job summary

SWEPCO, a part of American Electric Power, is seeking a Project Manager Staff Sr. to manage highly complex programs within a matrix environment. You will lead, train, coordinate, and communicate across internal and external stakeholders to plan, execute, monitor, and close projects safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree as listed or equivalent experience plus ten (10) years in project management or related field.
• Associate’s degree plus twelve (12) years of related experience; or high school diploma with fourteen (14) years of experience.
• Experience in project management, major construction, project controls, and/or IT systems is favorable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage assigned project activities with proficiency in Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• Ensure safety by supporting the AEP System Safety Process and Zero Harm culture.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, tools, and staff; communicate status and progress to stakeholders.
• Lead meetings and deliver complex stakeholder presentations; prepare clear written and oral reports.
• Foster relationships with internal/external customers, vendors, and contractors to drive customer satisfaction.
• Provide guidance and training to teams to improve design, processes, costs, and schedules.
