Job summary

American Electric Power in Kentucky seeks an experienced Project Manager Staff Sr. to lead high-complexity projects in an EPC/CCGT environment. You will oversee planning, execution and closure with a focus on safety, cost control and stakeholder communication.

The role requires a strong PM background, PMP certification (or approved waiver), and a track record in utilities or IT systems. On-site work at multiple locations may occur, with travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Computer Science or related field; 10 years qualified experience, or
• Associate’s degree with 12 years of qualified experience; or
• High School Diploma/GED with 14 years of qualified experience; PMP certification is required unless waived by leadership.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage assigned project activities with expert level of proficiency in all aspects.
• Lead planning meetings and project updates with detailed stakeholder presentations.
• Develop and manage project plan, schedule, budget, tools and staff; reallocate funding as needed.
• Communicate project/outage details and status; provide clear written and oral reports.
• Develop relationships with internal/external customers, contractors, vendors and suppliers.
• Provide training and guidance to others to improve design, systems, and processes.
