Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Project Manager (Staff Sr.) to lead highly complex EPC and construction projects within the NEW GENERATION program. You will manage cross-functional teams, control scope, cost, and schedule, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across outages and facilities.

The role requires PMP certification, a relevant degree with extensive experience, and strong communication skills to engage internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and customers.

Qualifications

• Requires PMP certification per position unless waiver approved by SVP/OPCO President.
• Experience in project management, major construction, project controls, and cost estimating.
• Must have strong leadership, communication and risk management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage assigned project activities with expert proficiency.
• Lead meetings and provide detailed reports and stakeholder presentations.
• Ensure safety and zero-harm focus across project activities and outages.
• Develop and manage project plan, schedule, budget, and staffing.
• Represent the company with internal/external customers, vendors, and regulators.
