Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Project Manager Associate/Senior to manage base, intermediate, and complex projects within a matrix environment. You will provide leadership, coordination, and clear communication to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and close projects safely and efficiently, delivering value and customer satisfaction.

The role emphasizes driving continuous improvement, building relationships with internal and external customers, and ensuring adherence to AEP’s safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, project management, computer science, or related field with entry-level or minimal experience.
• Three years of qualified experience for Grade 7, or two-year associate with five years, or HS with seven years experience (see below).
• PMP certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate assigned project activities.
• Coordinate and perform administrative tasks as delegated by the lead project manager.
• Act on behalf of the lead project manager when unavailable.
• Implement Waterfall and Agile project management principles.
• Support safety processes and ensure a safe working environment.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, tools, and staff.
• Lead planning meetings and provide status updates to stakeholders.
• Develop relationships with internal/external customers, vendors, and suppliers.
• Coach team members in project management skills and techniques.
