Job summary

American Electric Power in Columbus, OH seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead multiple complex projects within a matrix team. You will guide planning, execution, and closeout, while ensuring safety, cost control, and stakeholder transparency.

Responsibilities include directing plan development, budget oversight, and vendor coordination to maximize customer satisfaction and project value. PMP is preferred or equivalent experience; travel up to 25% may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with five (5) years qualified experience; OR
• Associate’s degree with seven (7) years of qualified experience; OR
• High School Diploma/GED with nine (9) years qualified experience; OR
• Two (2) years of experience as a Project Manager (Grade 7) or demonstrated competencies through results.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise assigned project activities using Waterfall and Agile methods.
• Support safety processes and maintain a zero-harm work environment.
• Develop and coordinate project/outage plans, schedules, and budgets; manage cost and funding reallocation.
• Communicate project details and status; lead meetings and prepare reports.
• Build effective relationships with team, customers, contractors, vendors, and partners.
