Job summary

American Electric Power seeks a Project Manager at the New Albany, OH site. You will lead one or more intermediate to complex projects in a matrix environment, guiding teams through initiation to closure, ensuring safety, budget adherence, and timely delivery while maintaining strong stakeholder communication.

The role requires a blend of Waterfall and Agile skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. Travel and on-site collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3 years qualified experience or an equivalent combination as described per business unit requirements.
• Associate’s degree with 5 years qualified experience or High School Diploma with 7 years qualified experience.
• Experience in outage management, project controls, estimating, and construction field experience is preferred.
• PMP certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage assigned project activities using Waterfall or Agile methodologies.
• Ensure safety alignment with AEP System Safety Process and Zero Harm objectives.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, tools and staff; reallocate funding as needed.
• Communicate project status with detailed stakeholder presentations and concise reports.
• Build relationships with internal/external customers, partners, contractors and vendors to achieve customer satisfaction.
• Provide guidance and training to improve design, processes, schedules and costs.
• Represent AEP with industrial customers, vendors, and regulators as required by projects.
• Align projects with AEP PM standards and drive continuous improvement.
• Travel as needed (approximately 25% or less) across diverse work sites.
